Herbs are an integral part of the Lao cuisine. Cilantro, Sawtooth Herb, Mint, Lemongrass, Basil, dill, spring onions, betel leaves and many more are used in the traditional Lao kitchen.
Over centuries, herbs have been used in Laos to meet primary health care needs, applied internally as medicine or externally as treatments (tinctures, herbal compresses or herbal saunas).
